Pixelated World
As she stands and wonders to herself, Was there a time When you could look across the land and see blue skies And clear oceans Of which a million species inhabited before The ancestors of technology Used it for pixelated dreams Of another world unaccusable of us. All she needed was a dream A dream that could cut through her heart like a key A key tying her down to all her roots Not letting her leave behind the wreck that is us How can the fire in our bellies be extinguished? With the words of a million liars Like the simpler times before this Before the democracy And discrimination When our views were respected Not only as women but as humans With a mind and point A sense of being You see, a pixelated world is what we live in Everything about beauty and standards No originality or conquest Where nature was respected not repented They predicted this Before time itself Before we blocked out our priorities… The worlds priorities We can’t justify this No Not now or ever Look what we’ve done Put aside the hatred and discrimination And look at the war zone we created Whilst trying to prevent such atrocities Atrocities that can never be undone Not by us Or the pixelated dreams
