Mother Told Me Not To Go Out At Night
A child whose curiosity shined Who naive, did not know of such downfall Mother always told him to stay home at night Yet, the curiosity failed to listen to such warning A night came, where mother was asleep A chance to explore the depths of night Out the doors he went To a world all too different A man of 40 watched him His every move His every sound His every being A grin only too sinister crept upon his face A thought too evil made him act As he followed the child Slowly, following The child unaware of such things happening Until he heard a faint whisper "Oh little boy" Despair filled the mind of the child His footsteps sped up His heart racing His eyes watering Home was far away The man behind him catching up The faint sound of his whisper filled dread in the boy "Little boy come play with me" Sped up footsteps turned to running His heart's speed almost crashing Eyes watering turned to cries of help Home was close The faint whisper only too familiar "Little boy, why are you running?" The man's voice cracked and deep His breath of cigar The smell of alcohol filled the boy's nose The boy almost fainted of fear Yet, home was there On the porch he went Tried to open the door Locked Once again, he tried Locked The man approaching The sinister smile on his face The whisper only to familar, spoke again "Little boy, you are making me very angry" Fear filled the boy Dread consumed the boy Despair being the boy The man closer Too close So close The smell of alcohol stronger The breath of cigar near The little boy closed his eyes waiting for what's about to come The whisper again spoke "Little boy, you are now mine" 10/02/2016 (Scare Me Good Poetry Contest)
