Lows and Extremes
The truth of reality haunts your soul, lamenting the innocence childhood stole. A hungry heart, forever starved of love, is always broken; it never feels whole. You didn't find love on the wings of a dove, so push inevitably turned to shove. And yet, normality included hope, and your willingness to partake thereof. You constantly feel unable to cope, always dangling at the end of your rope. And frustrated with an absentee God, you start sliding down a slippery slope. The fact that the world never spared the rod proved unconditional love was a fraud. And an incompleteness shadows your dreams, retracing the steps you've already trod. Hope's magic has become too weak to cast, Exhausted, its power degraded fast. Lonely and unloved, you await life's end, Praying that in death, you'll find love at last.
