Cuckoo is short for Cuckoo Nee Nee, a phrase termed by my mother regarding babies. Cuckoo is the one pride member who earns her keep. Cuckoo scratches my back regularly. All I do is display my back and then she scratches away marking her territory. I then give my back a little shift so that those claws of hers land on my annoying itch I believe that she's teaching other observers to do the same thing. Sometimes when she's scratching my back others join in.
