Leaves Are Falling
Leaves are falling and have drifted into piles, burnt orange and yellow, burgundy twirling; as Autumn's breeze make them dance, glittering and dipping in a swirling waltz; and now the trees lay down their emerald gowns, last night Jack Frost rattled my windows; oh there was a mighty blizzard of falling snow, in front of the fireplace I stayed warm and cozy; and in the night winter had arrived, morning dazzled and was full of sweet twittering. Everything looked so beautiful and magical, the forest path was calling for me to come; those places that once held leaves now held white, above the sky was azure blue with flakes; moving, billowing, expanding and drifting, ever changing and that sun was so soothing; I wrapped my cozy coat around me tighter, soon, I came to the park and my special place; little frozen crystals hung from branches, and in my reverie- I was skating on an icy pond. ________________________ August 26, 2016 Poetry/Verse/Leaves Are Falling Copyright Protected, ID 16-823-476-0 All Rights Reserved.
