The Saddest Poem
The dark side of by polar tonight. This poem is for my mother and father and wife. All suicides. The poem before this was my first attempt. It really stinks. This time I think I got it right. Makes me cry. Warning dark poem ahead. I will never know why you became so disconnected from everyone you loved. Or what it was that finally twisted your heart away from me. If death tasted like chocolate I could pretend to understand. Chocolate was after all one of your great weaknesses, and I was the other one. The one you over ruled and left behind. I wanted to tell you I was more afraid of life than you had ever seemed to be. I wanted to tell you that death was my mistress. That she had been calling me for years. That you had no right to intervene and take my place. No right to usurp my love, and run away to sleep in her arms forever. You have been too cruel this time! And I will go on living now until I have forgotten your name.
