Freezing Point
Do your arms reach out, in truth, to shelter me from the cold? Do your hands touch mine and bring flame to my frozen heart? Does your face warm mine, though it is stony and grey? Do your eyes look through the cold and bring the light of heat? Stony are my arms, frozen by my sadness. Cold are my hands, distorted by my sorrow Frozen is my face, made cold by my tears. Darkened are my eyes, made black by the cold. Can you know with your arms the stabbing of this cold? Do you feel with your hands the bitterness of regret? Can you touch with your face my frozen fears? Do you see with your eyes the pain of this tundra? I know only depression, pulling me deeper inside. I feel only despair, freezing me from within. I touch only ice, cold and remorseless. I see only tears, frozen in timeless lament.
