Separation Anxiety
Just knowing we must part creates a huge knot in my stomach. Even though I know I'll see you in a multitude of hours. Without you, my time passes slowly, almost backwards, at times. I feel lost without you near, unsure of which way to go. I turn inward on myself. My thoughts run overtime, thinking only of you and me together. My heart aches. Nausea creeps up my throat. My head hurts, and my spirit weakens. I sit here, alone and wonder... What are you doing? Do you feel as bad as I do? Are you thinking of me as much as I am thinking of you? I can't wait to close the gap of time between us and to be able to hold you tight in my arms again. To kiss your warm lips, to smell your hair, to feel your arms around me and your skin next to mine. I watch the clock intensly. Only 30 minutes have passed? It seems like hours. In my mind, I calculate Hours? Minutes? Seconds? Despair. Thinking, will it ever end? Upon seeing you, my pulse quickens, my palms sweat, and an uncontrolable smile fills my face. All my negative feelings subside. My insides instantly warm knowing you will soon be by my side.
