I Like Me
When you look in the mirror can you say, I like me ! can you say it every day? When I shave, I think, your not to bad today, I see an old man, whose has long passed grey. I see laughter lines, no wrinkles for me, Life is for living, live it with glee. In the full length mirror I have to tut, Got to do something to lose this gut. Need to do exercise someone may say, Yep , I know I do, but, just not today. Up and down the pool my friend swam, After a month she'd not lost a gram. I eat what I'm given, which is not a lot, But my failing is that I lick the pot! So I look in the mirror, what do I see? A bloke looking back who is just like me. He say's your OK mate, go live your life, Your in pretty good health, so is your wife. I know that your right mate and so I say, Thank God for the day is what I then pray. © Dave Timperley 08 August 2016
