Paint Me a Picture
Paint me a picture, Call it what you will. Draw me summer’s clouds Outside my windowsill. A splash of wine on the horizon, A sapphire to form the sea. A dash of honey for the sun That shines so bright for me! A sprinkle of a rainbow, That falls down from the stars. A sultry summer day beneath The realms of the quasars. Golden hues that rise from dawn, Atop the chestnut mountains. And several stripes of beryl Which enshroud those mystic fountains! A miracle of sweet device That comes to me all bright. A landscape made of something nice Which gleams upon my sight. A taste of all the finer shades That dwell upon this view. A history of all the trades That tells of me and you. A simple mark upon the grace Which seems too fair for thought. And all the blushes that I trace That history had brought. A smile of a candied field, That flows throughout my age. A glass too large for one to wield, That Nature loves to wage. Blessings from a violet rose That burst out with pleasant scent. Flickers from our world which knows How to tickle our intent! A mind at ease with all the things That sway in every season. A summer day that sweetly brings Perfect, unplanned reason. Calming gestures of the leaves Which appear at mystic will. Soothing voices of the breeze Outside my windowsill. Serenity displaced throughout Each and every nook. Simple pleasures brought about In every glance I took. Reflections from a silver shade That rest upon a river. Enjoyments of the sounds it made That struck and made me quiver! A light that visits all year round, And paints a cerulean sea. Paradise in each view found Of Nature and history. Virginity in every blade Of grass atop the lawn. A secret dance in morning play’d, When peaking low was dawn. A quiet prayer in solitude; I drew back my first pure breath. A place that many have argued Is the afterlife of death! A meeting ground where I have met All things of Nature placed. One kiss of Nature - I’ll forget Soon what it was I traced; All this beauty dispersed throughout Each romantic stem of Good. Form all the pleasures brought about That we dearly keep, and should!
