Walking My Tiger Home
Walking My Tiger Home - Poetry Contest Sponsor: Dave Lindsay Walking my tiger home I got a really strange feeling, it was more like I felt Karen's presence in the brisk air, since her death my heart has hardly been healing, but I could almost sense her beauty with me there. I turned in a full circle and looked in front and behind, but nothing did I see as I anticipated a ghostly figure, what kind of tricks are playing inside my crazy mind, I bent and rested my weary head upon my pet Tigger. My Tigger was born an orphan roaming outside the zoo, he never did find his own bed that he could call his own, it was just about the time I was depressed and I withdrew, my sister had recently died and I was utterly sad and alone. He purred like a huge pussy cat and kissed my tender tears, he always loved to snuggle down by the warm fire place, I gave him a collar as he gently embraced away my fears, and he always knew when I needed my solitary forlorn space. As the years flew by and he reached an old tender tiger age, he became my true strength as around the block we did roam, and as my grieving became much easier and I turned the page, life seemed most simple while walking my baby Tigger home. *This is sort of a true story. My sister did die almost 6 years ago, and left behind her precious puppy Bo. I adopted him and he has been my lovable companion since. So my special pet "Tigger" is really my special pet "Bo"...He is dying of cancer so it's been difficult. We used to walk everywhere, now he can barely get outside :(* Date Written: July 23, 2016
