Battle Wary
I can't stay here... nightmares, eating me alive. Living jar, full of demons. Humanity can't possibly survive. Finding interactions painful, pushing me to hide. I cry often now. I can't hold anymore inside. Craving beauty, I just want to live in art. Where did the destroyer go? Did my protective layer depart? True strength found in weakness, I no longer need my pride. A view angry and narrow continues growing ever wide. This life, now only saddens me. Ive seen more than most men should. The pain and ugliness defeated some. I saved the ones that I could. I'm sorry for the young ones. The ones I laid to rest. I grieve the forgotten. I swear I gave you my best. To the man, woman, or child I will never lay a hand on. Promise of a legacy left, to care for you, when I'm gone. I don't like many people. Increasingly a man, solitary. Forgive me my future rest. I have just grown battle weary. -Angel Fatale-
