His Innocence Killed the Frog
You must fly, he said it innocently Then he threw the little frog up in the air Watching the frog falling Brought him in so much laughter After its painful landing The creature tried to hop away But the heartless boy with his whole weight Stepped over his weakening prey Standing so proud like he’s the pirates captain Raising his right fist, owning the borrowed moment While the green little prey, closer to its death Numbed with so much pain under the proud boy’s feet After his childlike imaginations stopped Realizing that he hurt his green slave much Trying to know if it’s still alive or dead He then kicked his slave with forceful speed He walked closer to where it landed With its tongue out, the tiny creature is dead The now silent boy picked it up with a mourning face With mischievous mind, he put the lifeless creature on a case He dug a shallow hole, picked some garden flowers Slowly laid the case on that hole and started its ceremony after By uttering a personal prayer he only understood He tried to act crying but he can’t even once He threw those flowers on the shallow hole Cried this time while he’s dumping the case with soil As the hole got covered, he silently stand Stamped his feet on the covered hole to even the ground Before leaving, he whispered a serious plea With a pounding heart, he said he’s very sorry Sorry for being mean and a heartless little boy For unconsciously killing an innocent creature Only because I was overjoyed
