Means To An End
Words without meaning, the sound of your voice. Promises emptied, the illusion of choice. Decisions made, never thinking it through. Can't find my way, feeling lost without you. Gasping for air, taking shallow breaths. Can't tell a lie, there's no need to confess. Believing in something that can never be real, so don't try to tell me that this is not how I feel. It's apparently clear, the lines that have crossed. All drawn by you but the reasons are lost. My boundaries are set but you won't look. I guess I'm just the torn-out page in your open book.. I'm just a small white lie in your everyday life, I'm just a thought in your mind but you never think twice. I'm just someone you say you love in a daily phone call and there's a vision of our past that I can't see at all. And though it's hard to grasp, it still hurts to say though our paths once crossed, you've gone your own way. You led me astray and I refuse to follow and though I'm empty inside I'm all the hollow. So our love has gone and there's no need to pretend, that the only meaning of found, is the means to an end.
