One Eye On the Preacher
Ahh, Sunday morning, time for church, and after; the family will gather here for lunch. Ham in the oven, and it smells divine, hope the preacher don't run into overtime. Got things to do, salad to be made, and still, I have to decorate the cake. Well, here we are, on the very first pew, looking around, seeing whose new. There is old Jan, she sure is getting fat, and just look at Ms. nosey, she has a new hat. Hey, way in the back, is Wilma Faye, I bet she still don't have my money today. Farmer Pete, just walked in, got those overalls on again. Come on preacher, get the show on the road, I have got to get my ham out of the stove. Read these words, that I write today, plenty of gossip, have you heard me say. I've seen churches, full to the brim, but who did they come to see, surly not Him. With one eye on the preacher, and the other on the clock, tell me one thing, is this a lost flock?
