Hither and Thither
Everyday I see him and he sees me He's the Danny to my Sandy, why can't I be? I fall for him more everyday And the fall is hard, I feel the pain He's my sunshine on a dark and humdrum day But the apocalypse on a bright and mirthful day My heart belongs to him But his lay locked in the hands of another To me, he is my world Yet I, am but another speck of dust among the rest of them They say you'll find love one day, I ask when? If not me, then her If not you, then who? Silently sitting, searching This discrete yearning Here I am, waiting for you There you are, never on cue I think, maybe know, that you are the one I am but a planet and you are my sun. These cuts, these slits, the scars on my arms Please tell me that I'm worth it Make me believe it Tell me I'm beautiful Like no one has before The bruises on my fat stomach, The slashes across my gigantic thighs, The tear stains that run down my tired face These internal dents you could help me erase These words that I write for you, I hope you know that they're true For I call you hither and yet you go thither These empty thoughts, in my mind they whisper, That I will never be loved, And of course not by you To say I believe them, Would that affidavit be true?
