Bravery
I feel the sting of my downfall I’m succumbing to the gravity of my heart I’m breaking by the seams…as I stand tall In bravery, in victory, I will fight on from the start Come on, love of mine… Today is fading away into tomorrow You’re looking rather fine In your shady, contemplative sorrow… Under my skin, I feel goosebumps You dropped me like bread crumbs This burning sensation in me grows on Until the break of dawn Stop acting so lackadaisical! Can you just allow me to stand tall? Beneath the surface, I feel the weapons of warfare inside my head Rubbing salt unto the scars of my heart…oh, the aftershocks of dread Made me feel hollow instead…my cheeks are flooding red I fall in love with the remaining bravery inside me When I’m on stage, I feel somewhat free Set me free from captivity and hear me out as I let out my plea – Please forgive me, for I’ve fallen short again In the morning, I feel surreal when God watches over me In the afternoon, I deal with stress beyond belief In the night, I feel inspired and enthused I’m glad you think it’s funny that I’m not amused – It’s what you do to me when you hand me your grief I find solace in the moments of solitude I’m sorry – I don’t always have the attitude of gratitude I’m full of fear and joy in heart… I’m full of sheer happiness that won’t tear me apart… I’m the Lord’s work of Art Don’t give up on me, oh Lord Almighty I’m longing for a Shepherd to set me free I feel unbalanced when he’s not around I just hit rock bottom…I was once the sky, not I’m the ground Somebody made me feel so special – my precious best friend Don’t think me wicked, oh dear Father of love I’m still gonna love this person from beginning to end My companion is like an angel from above Heal me please, for I’m brought low once more Bring me up to the Haven of Happiness You’re my number one and that will always be to the core Thank you, God, for getting rid of my distress Instead of feeling sheepish, I feel brave God gave me so much strengths and weaknesses I’m embedded with the light at the end of the cave I need some hugs and kisses, for I don’t hate your guts – I love You with all my senses I want something more than what this life can offer I will not hang around the fool or the scoffer Believe in me, Lord Don’t reduce me to destruction, But give me Your accord – Build me up like the future Kingdom of Construction All I see is colors of bliss when I close my eyes But, You – You’re the color white because you reflect all shades and hues I have felt all the shades in my life of truths and lies But, I am overflowing with all of the above emotions, especially those all-too-familiar blues But, You made me glad My mate is the best thing I’ve ever had So, don’t forget about me… Even if I’m obsessed with writing poetry It’s less than thirty minutes till ten I don’t want to feel slightly timid again, But braver than a thousand men
