The Blessing
The weather was cold, but my heart was warm, On Decenber 28th, the day that you were born. Tiny feet and tiny hands, Your mother, your father, your biggest fans. A blessing, a miracle, my precious jewel, I'm happy but afraid, sometimes the world is cruel. Hopeful and watchful, I will always be, Of the special little girl, that grew inside of me. As you mature, and as you grow, there are a few things That you must know, Keep God first, and don't forget to pray. Make that you ritual, as you start your day. Keep love afloat, and hatred free of your heart, Don't depend on others, do Johnequa's part. And lastly, I advise you to your self be true, For when you can't depend on others, you can depend on you! My darling Nequa, what more can say, You more like me, each and every day, I guess, I'll say I love you, and tell you that I care, and if you ever need me, Know that I'll be there.
