The Veil of Night
A veil covers your countenance and keeps your eyes focused. At your side rests your hand which grips a bouquet of your favourite flowers. Your other hand is entangled with my fingers and the warmth is inviting. We wait until the sky opens and lets out her nightly orchestra of crickets. Shall we dance is my inquiry as you gaze upon my face. You share your deepest concern as I assure you that there is nothing to fear. The stars are our stage and the music swells with every step that we take. The moon is a spotlight to our motion that is gaining momentum. We must be rapid and make sure all of our movements are worthy for day will soon arrive. The sound of your voice puts me in a state of euphoria. I press my lips against yours and vow to never leave your side. For there is nowhere that I would rather be. Your half and my half provide a whole answer to a problem that is now fixed. We are one and the same. Together we stand. Hand in hand, we make our way to the chariot which we ride into the sunrise. The clouds surround us and we are hidden from view. To the world - we are gone. To each other - we are found.
