A Soul Lost Between Heaven and Earth, Forever
Hong Kong’s towers, glass shards piercing clouds, Break the faint zephyr, or channel a thankful breeze As I walk in the evening light. Ahead, a familiar form Slips through the oncoming press; slim, dark haired, Graceful curving hips. I look again and you are gone, Just another passer-by who pricks my memory. The whole of Asia whirls past, as richly varied as home; Cultural diversity creating a landscape of difference. And out of the crowd, the semblance of your face appears, Then vanishes, leaving only the remembrance Of dark almond eyes, high cheekbones and arabesque lips. The ceaseless sounds of people and traffic fade, and I sink into my dreaming world of sorrow and hope, A soul lost between Heaven and Earth, forever.
