I'M Sorry I'M Wrong
I expressed how I'm feeling again, that you dread After you left, my words went through my head I listened painfully to myself, my same old song it's not only your fault, I'm sorry I'm wrong To say; you've hurt feelings, what you 'don't do' for me How your lacking interest, is 'making' me be the loneliness I feel, your burden to bear I need to own up my part, my share It 'is' all the little things we don't or we do Building resentment, letting it stew You are closest to me, so all you have or haven't done has become an easy vessel, my insecurities to run If you only; 'Loved me better' My heart says; You can then I would love better, the person I am I see my hurt feelings have always been there Sorry I'm wrong, not yours to repair The reality is; I don't know how to get through, loving myself without, validation from you I truly believe I judge, who I am and can be Solely on how, I see you seeing me I've put you up front, to suppress not project something within, you might see or detect I'm not confident or tough, as I seem to be I've never embraced, loving me for just me When you step off the pedestal, I've put you I feel you see me differently, as unlovable. I see it too. I used to see myself, a long time ago Through eyes of close friends, how they saw me mattered so Through time I saw clearly, that's no way to live relying on others, their approval to give I learned I'm okay, who I am so I thought until now with you, my old baggage I've brought It's not up to you to 'make me', anything. The onus on me, my own identity to bring With all of that said; You have your own part to play a relationship takes two, meet each other halfway We both have our needs, our challenges and desires Nice words and kind actions lifts one up and inspires. Together acknowledge, being attentive and kind, will make us love better, each others design Respond to the good, have a positive plan To honor ourselves, to love better, we can I've learned when I'm loved and accepted, my self-love expands
