Face of Black and Crimson
To look at the stars in the dead of night To look at the stars through watery eyes To feel the cold of a winters night To feel the cold on bruised eyes To sit alone in the black of night To feel alone on a winters night The sun shines down to lift the light The sun shines down on new born life The window of my prison hides The face of black and crimson The people out there in their lives Don't know of the hell internal that resides Don't know of the face that hides behind the curtain A mind broken in worthless silence The tick-tock of the daylight hours The wait for fists that bang for hours Snarling shouting, raging mind The very worst of humankind The silence of the mind left lonely in the cold Broken body, broken soul Is this life real? Hoping to die before I'm old!
