Before Roses Had Thorns
With varying degrees of grace, You never know how much too keep, and how much too explain Wanted to tell him About the rose garden How much I loved it How It was /then- So alive and vibrant And how back then- Roses did not have thorns Maybe if I'd met him before Yes I'm sure I would have let you in but the withering now, I'm afraid- is as visible as the heartache I tore the red roses down Almost around- this time last year Mostly, for Pretending they could hold sorrow In there red loved soaked petals knowing..... "I knew roses before I knew of death" There was and never will be any understanding- I simply had to cut them down Maybe one day you'll see why..... Red Roses are ruined For me now Something else the doctors have found no solution
