Words
Words they cut deeper than a knife Yet you say I have to stay strong Else I'll prove too weak I guess I'm weak It can only take so much to hold me down But right now I'm tumbling down Liar, that's what you call me But just because you heard what you thought I said Doesn't mean I said it I thought we were friends But only strangers misinterpret my words Words They can restore you said I guess I'm happy but only when I'm not alone by myself at night 'Cause those words Flow through my mind I smile with you And take things cool But once you always termed me a fool So who's termed a fool? 'Cause only fools hang with fools To seem smarter But that's just foolish Words They can hurt like hell I'm too dumb to keep on hoping That things may seem this way And that change will come my way But no, I even tried making change my way But your words Liar I guess that's who you are Naturally persuasive You say what you think you hear All I needed from you was so simple Something so little as to listen Listen to my words I've been called whatever But what haven't I said to my myself What affirmation have I not given Have I affirmed myself? Check.... Words they cut deeper than a knife Yet you say I have to stay strong Else I'll prove too weak I guess I'm weak It can only take so much to hold me down But right now I'm tumbling down Though I'll always stay strong
