Pain and Numbers
>What a nuisance pain can be, bet you have some just like me. From head to toe, I guess you know, it often comes and seldom goes. In hospitals, when I had to go, they asked in numbers you to show. Just how high your pain can be, start at one and go to three. They give us tablets, capsules too, to dull the pain, that's what they do. But as you pass through Doctor's door, the numbers rose, now it's four. Then to the physio they send you, twiddle various parts they do. When they are finished and are through, your numbers up to twenty two. So if like me, you are in pain, same, if it's dry or does rain. Let go and let your worry flow, and hope your number comes down low. A sunny climate, and fresh air, a comfy bed or upright chair. What'ere you try, please tell me, if indeed you come pain free? I tried them all, bracelets too, capsules, tablets bounce off me. Am I immune to what they do. I've gone up to twenty three. I had powder and creams too, just to rub in as you do. I've tried the lot, I implore. Must stop it reaching twenty-four. The next attempt to set me free, needles, they poked inside me. As they picked me from the floor, my numbers well past twenty-four. The last attempt to set me free, I let the doc. Hypnotize me. I don't know what he did it's true. But when I woke I felt like new. Now to work. I could drive, I'm always in the public eye. No more pain affects me now, so I'll end this rhyme somehow. I only hope you're now like me, back to pain number three. Oh dear, that should be numbers none, Oh no, once more, the pain's begun. I think I will now write no more. I've started laying on the floor. I think I'll stay here on my back, hope and pray pain soon I'll lack. Footnote. Pain is such an insignificant word, but if you've got one. It's something you don't want really. I hope all of you are pain free, if not, I hope this poem did not induce it. lol (The mad Author.)<
