She Left and Was Gone
She Left and Was Gone Wanted my bright baby to be big and strong But I am a drug addict who does things wrong And things about God I find to be unnerving Punishment by Him she thinks is deserving. She often fools around and then will fret And is hard for her any standards to set That with rest of whole world does comply Reasons she does things never know why. As belief in herself soon started to slow She again had suffered a severe blow News regarding her soon was all bad A terrible tumor in brain he now had. What with her whole life will she do? My curiosity about her grew and grew Continued to suffer strain and drain Making any comments I had to refrain. She did need my shoulder to cry on Then tomorrow approached a new dawn And after my shoulder she had cried on She had left and from me was now gone. James Serious Mysterious Horn Retired Veteran and Poet This was written especially for Father Davis and his great sermon this morning.
