Shootings here - beatings there, Daily crime happening everywhere- I cry for the elephant chained for 50 years, I’m sick of lawyers saying, “It’s not what it appears-“ The rapist gets an early release from jail – he’s free, Until he gets caught on his next raping spree. I cry for the victims, it’s so terribly sad, Has our justice system really gone mad? A 15 year old dies retrieving her stolen phone – that’s fact, A man, standing in a fast food line, gets stabbed in the back- I cry for the babies left in hot cars that die, And I shake my head and ask, “ God, Why?” A home invasion goes awry- A man kicks a door in and executes a family of six- A man on his yacht dies of a forced drug fix- All of this bad news makes me SICK-SICK-SICK!
