Supposed To Be
I got lost along the way, On a journey to finding myself, A person once confident, Now hides inside a shell. I was once beautiful and strong, but didn’t realize my own worth. I let the words of others, Take control of who I was, I let them decide my own worth But now they’re gone, I don’t know who to be. I was who they wanted, They took control over me. Like a marionette doll, They hold the strings, I did what they want, They had control over me. Who am I supposed to be? I can’t figure that out. Do I be strong, or weak, Should I be confident in me? Those words that ruled over me, Are empty in my head, A once beautiful and strong girl, Who has been torn to shreds. Alone with her thoughts, She asked herself why, Why she let them decide, Decide who she was supposed to be.
