Her Tremors, We Fear
She expresses her displeasure with us Acknowledging the hurt we cause her Though our care, is little For science may attempt to repair But severed her, we have Only without our presence, can she heal A home to us, she has been Wishing to nurture us, with her produce Though our greed, proves our weakness Her food we use, than discard As better it, we believe we can A greater profit, is there for us Provided us with much leisure, she has Wishing us to be content, with our surroundings Though to be satisfied, we choose not For superior to four-legged creatures, we view ourselves But our similarities, would defeat our differences If our respect to her, was like theirs Her wounds, are greater now As our holes we have dug deep, to steal the gold within her Though through her heat, she has emanated a warning But only in her tremors, do we fear For realize we do, dependent on her we are No matter the improvements we attempt, our lives she owns still
