The Sea Shore
A westerly zephyr whispered with gentle grace Just enough to guide the cotton sky into tomorrow- I watched as the sapphire horizon gleamed distant Rippling beneath the light of the golden Sky Fire, Who delved into slumber behind nocturnal waters- Devising for the ghostly White Crescent to look in On the road maps of our travels, lov'd like nature- My dreams began on bitter concrete, but subdued, Surrendering beneath my feet into warm white powder, Like island snow; I shook the waters to smell the salt And was welcomed by an orchestra of smoky cannons, Firing back, with textured waves of rich summer sounds What a delight! This shoreline made a fool of my time- Hours spent trading blood for paper, green and mighty, How many years have passed; how much have I missed, Swimming along these steep and lofty edifices, a victim- Nigh is the water that heals my cold-sweating pain, Here is where I shall start, with the love of this shoreline And the imagination of a blind poet's eye, I will produce A vivid lifetime; before the last embers of daylight die.
