Instructions
It is you, Lord, to which I pray, On this lonely, sleepless night. You see my little girl is with you, And I need you to hold her tight. Lord, I really don’t understand, Why she had to go be with you. She is only three years old, But I’m gonna put faith in what you do. I have some instructions for you, Yes, I know you see everything. But I need to tell you what to do, Somehow I have to stay sane. You see she can’t sleep, Unless you give her a little milk. She likes it lukewarm, And please rock her upon first sip. And God she has a cowlick, So part her hair to the right. I can’t believe I can’t touch her hair, Those curls were such a sight. One more thing Lord, Flutter you eyelashes with butterfly kisses. And when she blows out four candles, Please fulfill her birthday wishes. Now Lord I will be going, You know I called her “little angel of mine.” Now she really is one, Please kiss her wings tonight at bedtime.
