Sad Sweet Angel
sad sweet angel shares a meal with me she sees the world spinning to nausea in my eyes i thank her with a poem she thanks me with a hug it has been two weeks since i felt something solid in my stomach the image of my right hand in a grocery store toilet full of wet, used toilet paper creeps into my head i completely forget the pain i always see in her eyes it is like the storms of life has stricken her down with heavy age sad sweet angel accepts a bowl tender joy stew from me i go to the blender and make her a butterscotch shake i see the world liquefied with her teardrops she thanks me with a warm and simple smile i thank her with a hug of my own we chill the night away by watching the stars from the window the halos of her wings revive and come alive
