Mother Hen
If I died today could I die knowing , I loved them all with every beat of my heart That I tried all I could, to set them apart From what they see as the norm, That I gave them the courage not to conform That they would be unlike the rest, That I would be able to take my last breathe Knowing they would have the courage to be self, Selfless of the thoughtless people judging everyone but themselves To rise above the need to fit in and stick out like sore thumbs, Un-phased of the mouths that run I will never know for when I die, I won't hear their crys I may watch over, but will no longer be able to lead them out of their own demise I Cry I Die Not knowing For what is is taught is not always followed For what is followed is not always what is taught But I will try my best, to trust that they will lead themselves after I rest To be the best part of me, leaving behind all I have left They are my push, much like the last I took When they arrived to this world, beginning their own book This is Life, for which I am blessed To be the mother, that fed them from my breast For if I die not knowing, I will not die not showing All that I could, While they were growing ******Mother Hen*******
