In Dreams She Cries
In dreams she cries where none can see The nightmarish hell that brings her to her knees She longs for a way to end the constant pain The ghoulish abuse she endures everyday She dreams of a life free of tears Free of suffering she’s endured so many years Try and try she searches for a way To end this cruelty of life that has become her bane With tearful thoughts she knows what must be done Suddenly in her hand lies a loaded gun This price would be to high she knows with a start To wake to this would destroy her breaking heart In dreams she cries for a love gone wrong A vow made forever but now long gone She awakes with a start, tears still stinging her eyes Heart pounding, she runs so far from her home Never stopping until she is so far away…long gone She knows returning would end in a tragic end She must keep running and let a new life begin Months later she realizes her eyes are finally dry No longer when she sleeps do her eyes cry She is finally free, finally without pain Her life her own, each day her’s to gain a new way So finally she smiles without knowing why But she’s now number one in her very own eye
