Displaced Or Repositioned
Displaced or Repositioned You know that it happens to others but, not to you but, it did! Twenty years of your life gone, you’re left alone with your children. You’ve never worked outside of your home. A fear strikes you, what do you do? Where will you go? You don’t even like to be alone at night. What now? You begin with college but, what will I take? All of a sudden, you are a college mother. Then the reality strikes, your identity crisis, who are you now? I was used to be a wife and a mother but, I am still a mother but not a wife anymore. I’m still a daughter and a sister but again, I am not a wife anymore. You go on with your life; you try not to look back. I’m a believer in Christ. He says, don’t look back, look ahead! Brighter times are coming. The past and its shadows are depressing and defeating, I’ve got to look ahead to happier days, but Lord, who am I now? I went to college, yes, some happy times were there. New people and a change of scenery, yes others that have gone through similar things. But, misery doesn’t make for happier times. You need encouragement and you need hope for a better life. You need hope that all things do work together for the good for those that are in Christ Jesus. You need to know, He is the Door to a brighter future and that He will open that door. Then comes that first job, you are scared, can you do it? Will they like you? Will you like them? What if you fail, what if you don’t? You know your God will supply all of your needs in Christ Jesus, right? You gain experience. Every job, every interview prepares you for something better. You keep on going higher. Then for some unexplainable reason, you come to realize your God has “placed” you in a new position. You thought, “displaced”, but He says, “repositioned”. You thought, failure but, He says, promotion. You said no, only at home, He says, go – go minister to the lost sheep of the world. You thought it was all a mistake that it happened but, He says, “All things work together for the good and He has a plan and a purpose for all of my life, hurts, pains, as well as victories. He says that He has a wonderful plan for my life, what a wonderful Master of my soul I have found in Him to be. Now, several years have passed, new inner strength, new height in Christ Jesus. I have a precious faith in my Redeemer that I would not have had had I just been a stay at home mother and wife. My doubts and fears have been replaced with faith in my God, His strength overcomes my weakness. Even if I can’t, He says, He can for nothing is impossible with my God. I have a great big God and a little me. I have a new environment, new residence, old things are truly passed away, and behold all things are new. I have a genuine thankfulness for a new beginning for truly I serve an amazing God and I know Him in ways I never would have. Lord, You are absolutely Wonderful! Thank You for a new beginning, what a Glorious Lord that I serve! Written by: Marilyn S. Jennings 1997
