Hair stands on end tween wind and fear; the tree limb shadows dance around like eerie snakes, entwined, austere, they make their patterns on the ground. Our minds paint images so true that speak to us like living scenes; the shadows in the dark undue our courage while we conjure schemes. The shadow forms sway two and fro like creatures of the night they creep; our senses dulled by vision's flow, like dreams come live while we're asleep. Our daring fades with night's black sky, and though the moon casts her pale glow, the shadows play and so defy our sense what's real and what we know. Sandra M.
