The Constant One
You're the one; who's always been. You're the one; who'll always be. I don't want to know, my life without you. I can't stand to see you, in such misery. I just want to hold onto the moments; to hold onto the days. You've been the centerpiece of our family; in so many ways. The pinnacle of strength, courage, and determination; It's who you'll always be. I hate this cancer for stealing you from me. The family trips we took; Oh how you made my life fun! the laughter, the dreams, the hopes, For me you were, the constant one. When I wasn't looking, you captured my heart; My Champion, My Protector, My best friend, right from the start. I can't bear to watch this cancer take you. Right beside you I will stay. Holding firmly to your hands, Until God leads you away.
