The Need To Cry
Today I feel the need to cry; not because of bodily pain or anguish that sometimes beset us as a people, as family. Today I feel the need to cry. Not tomorrow or in the near future, but right now, this very moment. Yes, I really feel the need to cry. So, why not just cry? It's not easy for a man, I replied. But today, I still feel the need to cry. I feel the need to cry, to mourn the loss of a dear cousin. So please prepare for a deep-felt outburst right now! Today, and for the last few days I've not only felt the weight and burden of sadness. But today, unlike any other day, I really & truly do feel the need to cry. Today Verdel would've wanted us to express the pain & emptiness we feel as a result of her passing. So, don't suppress that urge to shed some well pent up tears. Just let it all out - if you feel the need - just cry.
