Journeys End
by Laura Why does it feel so brave to just stay alive? Discarding last rights in the darkest of nights To make promises that once felt so contrived My torturous heart still beating in the morning light There's a moment you choose to live or let go These nightmares you lived inside of your mind It all brings to you what you already know This war never favored the weak-hearted kind Curled in a ball on the cold bathroom floor Sobbing desparate pleas to end the burning pain Never knowing why it's worse now than before How you found this awful place; the broken and insane So you do the only thing you can, to live another day 300 ugly scars saying you'll never be beautiful You let you soul vacate your eyes to numb the pain another way You lose yourself in emptiness; reality just fades away Rock bottom now, when home becomes that porcelan tile Your only friends are razor blades, darkness and the pain today Realizing that its time to die, or stay awhile To live or let go of this never-ending flight delay When the sun peaks through the crack window pane Trying to recall when it all went so wrong You wonder how you get so wet without the rain Why you're still dancing along out to this sinister song
