Only a Lack of Light
Well you painted lovely pictures, And you placed me in every one. Now roses and thorns grow in those fallen ruins Covering the windows and barring each door. Nothing ever was able to keep me here, But still you tried and you did not relent. So now I am chained and I am here without the light. I told you I couldn’t take your pain away So you tied me to it when you knew I would not wait. In this enclosure you have kept control, And I am slowly dying, losing sight. I kneel to meet your blade, And lust after the reflection of any light. Loving every moment of my tears You dove into the sound of my cries And lost yourself in such pleasure there. There are so many ways we need each other No matter if you have bound me to the bed And there is no respite. Like fogging glass not from heat But decomposition that screams of some violent end. I wanted some peace of mind And you wanted my desperate pleas.
