Shall See Sarah Soon
Shall See Sarah Soon Heard her crying the other day Was not sure what I should say She kept crying more and more Then her I started praying for. God, she's such a nice, sweet child Her I would never have beguiled Been telling truth in my each breath Am afraid to hear about her death. How could God give her cancer? There must be some other answer Hidden on earth here somewhere For her very much always do care. Started to sing Sarah softly to sleep Then we buried her way down deep And the last thing I ever said to her Was love you certainly and for sure. Prayed day after day over tiny grave My soul for her has become a slave To who she was and all her being Soon in heaven Sarah will be seeing. A kind, precious thing she has been And it is only God who knows when So for daughter did write this song See Sarah soon and won't be long. James Thomas Horn Retired Veteran and Poet Does my poem deserve to be a perfect seven? And if so I would end up in poetry heaven.
