'1 To 47' For Trashed 2 Contest
I wanted to write something in which each successive line had one more letter than the one before; it basically wrote itself : I do not wish to see the sky before a bird goes soaring by that I may be at once alive observing him soar, turn & dive no cares, the King of his high domain the earth beneath’s his bejewelled gain free from constraint his barnstorming rush pulls his feathers taut with a fluttering whoosh my warm heart takes flight and my spirit sprouts wings taking hold my soul now sings and we soar through the clouds where the atmosphere’s thinner my eye’s on heaven, his is on dinner weaving & dancing cross the skies our twinkling ‘pas de deux’ surprise suddenly over, our pathways diverge when nature defines an inimical urge on & up he goes as thermals give him rise and plummetting down I’d slowly realise my wings are imagined, his beyond surreal my faithless fall drags me down by the heel and as gravity takes its inevitable toll the weight of my heart puts my flight on a roll convinced more than ever that now I should die as the bird disappears through a hole in the sky perseverance and strength overcomes the desire to surrender my endurance for abandonments fire heavens continuance calls, without thinking I vie now to ascend beyond death without questioning why By His Grace, my spirit lifts mountain high as the dove To forever dwell in Peace with the King of all the above Written and posted 07/11/15 by Bill Lindsay reposted for Trashed2 contest sponsored by BROKEN WINGS
