The Dirt Road
In walking down that dirt road she felt something inside As with time this never did erode even if it was set aside For it has been such a while since she had felt this way Usually when life has you on trial is when we forget to pray But today it fluttered back like a butterfly against the wind Seeing how she lacked, measured by the times she sinned Suddenly how small she'd feel walking that tiny dirt road Like layers would peel all by the One to whom all is owed So long since it was used yet it has never shined so bright And where she used to be confused now she's seeing Light What a gift she was given, one that had never left her side Even in the days of bad living and being filled up with pride As all of that was swept away before she could blink an eye Just in the words she would say and how she began to cry For the time had been so long and she had grown so weak With such a sense of love so strong she could barely speak Romans 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God
