Promising Is Empty
Promising is empty It’s hollow and dry My heart is drowning Because of a guy My body is swollen From being so strong And my mind is ashamed Just knowing he’s wrong. My hands are tired Of wiping my tears My sanity is cracking From all of these years Kisses mean nothing If love doesn’t send to my lips Pain shivers through me From my head to my hips I’m hiding in darkness Not ready to leave As soon as I’m out There’s a trick up his sleeve I wonder if happiness Is reality or from fear Because I’m dodging What I don’t want to hear And though I deny it The wrongs always clear My nose is tired of sniffling My fingers are tired of writing My hearts tired of breaking My souls tired of fighting My reflection hates me For what I’m putting it through And I’d ask her to help me If she knew what to do I could burn in a fire I could fall off a bridge And it still wouldn’t top The pain that I’m in I don’t want remorse I don’t need promises I just want sincerity And some of my wishes So my back is sore from sitting Waiting for his call My hopes are up from waiting Hoping he’s coming down the hall My head is hanging heavy And my feet drag across the floor All I can really say Is that I can’t take it anymore.
