Fathe Bob
Father Bob By Curtis Johnson In Chicago, by the early 70’s, many great churches had taken flight Off to the suburbia they went, seeking refuse from crime and blight In the late 60’s, one man answered the call to win the lost to Christ He moved his family to Chicago, willing to pay whatever the price While the windy city slept, he went out to talk to the people of the night In this metropolis by the lake, drugs and gangs were winning the fight While the windy city slept, he searched for the addicted in dim lights In this asphalt jungle, he told them that Christ could raise them to new heights While the windy city slept, he prayed that God would improve their plight In this city of the magnificent mile, he believed that God would make things right In Chicago, as their world of addiction ruled and ripped them apart He sat with them; He cared for them; And they called him Father Bob
