Smarty-Pants Pigeons
When Dragon communed with nature, all the pigeons came home with him. And from our daily feeding of wild birdseed, they decided to take their fill. Unfortunately, they did discover, they liked it, a little bit, way too much! So they moved onto our wires and trees, completely surrounding all of us. The elephants of the bird world, on eating, don’t know when to stop. And poo-die problems everywhere began to quickly build… up… up… up. Cleaning up after Dragon is quite enough, without hosing pigeon stuff. So we hid all birdseed, locking it, tightly behind the door, of our garage. We attempted to send the pigeons, back to that park, way over there. Talking to them did no good, nor a horn, but fire works worked real well. There’s a limit to what I can do, didn’t want to disturb, wild baby birds, too. Those baby birds native to our yard, the pigeons continued to push aside. This was escalating so we finally bargained to feed the pigeons in the park. But greed is only natural; as they wanted that, and yes, a whole lot more. So early the next morn I found a big wooden Trojan Pigeon left at my gate. Come on! REALLY? I knew the story of the great Greek Trojan Horse! OK! Dragon, Trolls, and I moved the large, wooden pigeon, back to the park. Then we proceeded to leave it beside their favorite statue, there… But… When we got back to the house, our garage had been emptied, of birdseed. Those smarty-pants pigeons had quietly sat on the roof, until we did leave. They’d raided our garage until the birdseed, had been totally cleaned out! We set a trap, to catch them, the very next day, in the garage. You bet! We hauled bags of birdseed directly into the garage then, took off to wait. They took the bait, and we closed them in the garage. Ah HAH! Great! We had a town wide auction for messenger pigeons… to now be bought!! Everyone in town bought a few it’s true. They use them to send me news. On what Dragon is up to… Yep, they now have some wonderful homes… And they have an unerring knack to find our home it’s true… every time! In town they’ve become more popular than any store bought kind of bird. And for the price of birdseed…they’ll perform tricks for you… all day long… Now they’re very intelligent, and know a good thing when it comes along… So pampered pets they love to be… and so they have become! Unfortunately, Dragon, loving his friends, with an assumed name, bought ten! Sigh! Now, you surely MUST have known: I would never be able, to truly win! At least, not with Dragon. That Crazy Clown! And with bird seed all around!
