'friends'
It says on your facebook page how many friends you have Four hundred and sixty, wow you are very lucky But it does make me wonder Say you were to get mugged or robbed, lose your wife or your job Or be struck down with depression or cancer How many of those four hundred and sixty ‘friends’ would Come to your aid and be there for you to support you Without hesitation or something to gain? How many could you truly count on in the heat of the battle? When the odds are stacked against you and the consequences maybe hard to handle I hope the answer is a lot, but I rather suspect that it’s not How many times have you spoken to these four hundred and sixty ‘friends’? How many times have you seen them and done things together like friends? If the answer isn’t much, it’s time to kick them into touch Don’t worry, you don’t have to speak to them, or tell them to their face Thanks to the internet you can just click them into space It’s easy, I know, cos like you I used to have lots of ‘friends’ Now I have just a few friends and maybe I don’t look so cool But when the moment comes and I’m in trouble I’ll know who to turn to And I won’t have to scroll down a list the length of a football pitch I’ll just look in my phone, in my phone list they easily fit Size doesn’t matter, it really is true It’s all about quality not quantity and I know that’s a cliché too But there you go that’s the way it is Time to trim back your friend list
