Set Your Dreams
The young child put his dream in a box, on a shelf, in the closet of his room. If melancholy, he would retrieve the box from the darkness of the closet, reliving the joy of the dream, hoping to never be filled with gloom. The adolescent put his dream in a pocket, so to keep it close and near. When lonely he would touch the cloth, to know the dream's comfort, hoping to never be filled with fear. The grown man had his dream sitting atop a high and pleasant hill. He left that dream there so all who climbed the hill's crest could rest, reflect, and know the dream's exhilaration and thrill. The old man, still lost in the wistful reverie of his dream reached high, placing it upon a star. There, the vision's silver gilding on the blue-black sky became for all others, and for all time, a sign of hope and encouragement from afar! Look then, toward the evening sky, to set your dreams upon a star. ~~~Written with deep respect and love for Larry B. and Bob H.~~~
