Resurrected From the Blood
RESURRECTED FROM THE BLOOD I had quite a sinful life, of it I’m oft ashamed, And I often tried my very best so many things to blame. Not a father close to me, or things that folks would say, Friends who came along in life to help me on that way. Thinking I enjoyed the thrill in all those many deeds, Paying no attention to the fruit that it might breed. Then one day came face to face with a disturbing truth: I could not remember of that day when I was just a youth I was supposed to trust in Christ, put all my trust in Him, And through His blood be throughly cleansed of all my awful sin. And so I came that special day and called upon His name, And trusted Him as Savior then to cleanse my life of shame. Have I lived perfect since that day? No, not by any means! I resurrect sins from the blood too many times, it seems. It’s not enough that I just fall into the devil’s snares, It seems that I would rather dwell and talk about it there. So not so very long ago the sinful life became Discussion with a stranger who said I take too much blame. Those things you did were not so bad, they were of God’s design And somewhere in them I am sure His will you’ll surely find. Now I look back on foolish days I rambled on again About so many times of life, so many sordid sins. Yes, resurrected from the blood—in the week of victory When I’m supposed to celebrate the cross of Calvary! Well, now I’m sorry for it all, for I must ever live In victory knowing of God’s grace, so willing to forgive. Not saying sin should just abound, though, but to ever strive To live in victory in His strength because He is alive! He resurrected from the blood He shed that day for me— May I, dear Lord, come out alive and live each day for THEE!
