A Thief In the Night
An Englishman's home is his castle, A saying well known to most. A place where you can relax, A place with no fear of attacks. An Englishman's home is his castle, A place to store all life's treasures. A place to keep all ones memories, A place to enjoy all life's pleasures. An Englishman's home is his castle, A place that's inviting to strangers. A place where loved one's can nestle, A place that should not have dangers. An Englishman's home is his castle, A place that was invaded by hostiles A place now devoid of it's peace, A place that is empty of smiles. We were invaded last night, While we were enjoying a break. All our treasures were taken from us, Our castle now had nothing to keep. An Englishman's home is his castle, A place now, it seems, with less charm. A place that is still blessed by God. A place where he kept us from harm. The invaders I hope, will never know peace. For their trade is a horrible one. They live forever in the Devils domain, one day , just desserts will find every one. © Dave Timperley 29 January 2015.
